Role and Responsibilities

•          Lead and manage the Accessibility and Fair Housing team.

•          Ensure timely execution of responsibilities related to accessibility and fair housing.

Examples include the following: bulletin board requirements, 504 transition plans, Yardi work orders, Affirmative Fair Housing Marketing Plans (AFHMPs), and reasonable accommodation/modification (RAR/RMR) request determinations, reporting, and billing.

•          Provide guidance to community managers with technical questions.

•          Collaborate with the community managers, regional and senior regional managers on cost and scheduling with sub-contractors.

•          Collaborate with AFH team, property management staff, and subcontractors to ensure necessary requirements are compliant. Such requirements include but may not be limited to the following: UFAS, ADA, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the Fair Housing Act.

•          Provide guidance and resolution support on non-compliant issues identified during inspections by external and internal audits.

•          Maintain accurate and timely communication with AFH team and property management staff, providing clear guidance on compliance standards and procedural updates.

•          Contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement efforts for the department, ensuring alignment with the organization’s objectives and key results.

•          Review and approve accommodation and/or modification requests for distribution to site staff.

•          Manage estimates, reserve requests and completion of modifications concerning ramps, handrails, walk-in showers, and other specified modifications.

Community Affordable Housing Equity Corporation (CAHEC) is a non-profit community investment company based in Raleigh, NC, with the mission to provide communities affordable housing and opportunities for growth and revitalization by investing in qualified tax credit products throughout the southeast and mid-Atlantic. CAHEC Properties Corp (CPC) a non-profit affiliate of CAHEC, is based in Columbia, SC. CPC owns, acquires, rehabilitates, and develops affordable apartment communities in the southeast and mid-Atlantic. CAHEC Properties Corporation Overview

CPC is responsible for (i) structuring, negotiating, and closing new and resyndicated development projects, (ii) providing owner representation for properties owned by CPC and its affiliates, and (iii) acquiring affordable properties that are at risk of removal from the affordable housing stock. Through its affiliates, CPC is the Managing Member or General Partner for over two hundred and thirty multifamily affordable housing communities and, in this role, is responsible for the physical and economical oversight of each property. Specifically, CPC is responsible to ensure all applicable compliance is maintained, the physical condition of each property is at a high quality, all local, state, and federal reporting requirements are met, and financial commitments to investors and other stakeholders are maintained. CPC is also responsible for overseeing all property and corporate accounting and finance functions of CPC and its affiliated entities.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

•          Minimum five (5) years’ experience in multi-family property management.

•          Demonstrated leadership or team management experience.

•          Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as real estate, management, or business preferred.

Preferred Skills

•          Strong organizational and administrative skills.

•          Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

•          Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and data management software.

•          Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

•          Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
